The Spanish tennis player Roberto Bautista qualified this Thursday for the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Saint Petersburg (Russia), which is played on hard court, after defeating the American Mackenzie McDonald in two sets (6-3 and 6-2) in a game lasting one hour and 20 minutes.
Bautista, third-seeded, had no trouble getting a ticket to the quarterfinals in a duel he led in the sixth game of the first round. The break in the American’s service was vital for the Spaniard to score the first set without setbacks.
In the second round, Bautista repeated the same formula, with a sober and effective game, the Spanish tennis player went further with the passing of the points and managed to break McDonald’s serve twice to meet in the quarterfinals with the experienced Croatian Marin Cilic.
