Arjen Robben announced on July 15 that he was hanging up his boots after last season's military at Groningen in the Eredivisie. However, this Wednesday he has again set foot on a football field, he has not done it as a footballer, but as a linesman. The former Madrid player and the Dutch national team had no qualms about helping direct a game in which his son was playing.
The image of Robben with the linesman flag during his son's game is going around the world. Some of those attending the meeting could not resist photographing the scene and sharing it on social networks.
Robben has been one of the best and most successful Dutch players in history. He ended his successful career after playing a total of 614 games and scoring more than 200 goals. Trained in the lower ranks of FC Groningen, he made the leap to PSV Eindhoven. He also played for teams like Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. At Stamford Bridge he raised two Premier League (2005, 2006), with Madrid he achieved a League (2007) and Spanish Super Cup (2008), and at Bayern he won absolutely everything, in addition to being the author of the decisive goal in the final of the 2013 Champions League that gave the Bavarians the title against Borussia Dortmund. With the Dutch national team, Robben has appeared in 96 games and scored 37 goals. The most momentous match he played for the oranje was against Spain in the 2010 World Cup final.
