Base Ricky Rubio suffered an injury to his left knee this morning in the final minutes of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ loss to New Orleans Pelicans (108-104), a duel in which the Spaniard was signing one of his best performances in the NBA , bordering on the ‘triple-double’.
With just over 2 minutes remaining, Ricky Rubio slipped while trying to tackle the basket, injuring his left knee amid apparent gestures of pain. The Spaniard had to be helped by his teammates Isaac Okoro and Kevin Love to get off the track. As confirmed by his coach, JB Bickerstaff, the player will undergo a medical evaluation to determine the extent of the injury.
Ricky Rubio was the leading scorer, rebounder and assistant of the game, with 27 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Also in the Cavs, Kevin Love had 24 points, 21 of them thanks to the 7 triples he scored.
The Pelicans’ leading scorer was Herbert Jones, with 26 points. The Spanish center Willy Hernangómez collected 3 rebounds in the almost 6 minutes he played.
