Ricky Rubio can’t contain Curry in Cavaliers’ third straight loss

MADRID, 19 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio could not add another victory with the Cleveland Cavaliers and conceded his third consecutive loss by losing 89-104 after a sensational final quarter by the visitors, led by Stephen Curry.

Neither the Catalan game director nor his teammates were able to contain the explosion in the final quarter of the visiting star, who led the comeback in the last twelve minutes. There they entered with a disadvantage of 13 points, but Curry tuned his wrist and his team pressed on defense to sign a devastating 8-36 that gave the victory to Steve Kerr’s team.

Rubio did not have his best game, with a bad night in the pitch, with 4/15 and in the direction (five losses), and finished with 10 points, five assists and two steals in a Cavaliers where Darius Garland excelled (25 points) .

Up front, Curry signed 40 points, with 9/16 in triples, half of them in that final quarter that cemented the comeback of Golden State, which continues as the leader of the Western Conference and of the season with a balance of 13-2. Cleveland, meanwhile, despite its losing streak, is eighth in the East (9-8).

In addition, Spanish rookie Santi Aldama had something to do with the Memphis Grizzlies’ 120-108 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. The one from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria only played two minutes, during which time he made a pitch and caught a rebound.
