RFER opts for data analytics with Kitman Labs

MADRID, 17 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Royal Spanish Rugby Federation (RFER) and Kitman Labs, a sports technology and analytics company, announced on Tuesday a new agreement that will provide the men’s and women’s national XV and Sevens teams with the intelligence platform for the treatment and analysis of medical, performance, training and talent development data of players, according to a statement.

The centralised platform will enable RFER to “ensure the optimal and accurate collection of all performance data from national teams” and then “boost engagement and performance” by avoiding “data gaps and inconsistencies between teams”.

In addition, they will be able to “consolidate all medical data” to “create individual medical passports that centralize all medical records,” which will allow for a “complete physical and mental assessment of each athlete.” And all of this data and analysis will also support decision-making, always “based on data and evidence in the areas of medical management, health and player well-being.”

The RFER considers this agreement to be “essential” to “improve a team’s chances of competing in today’s environment.” “This means that our coaching staff need to have real-time access to accurate and reliable information about their athletes and be equipped with the data and tools to collaborate and support informed decision-making,” said Brad Linklater, the organization’s High Performance Coordinator.

“Our intelligence platform unifies data, people and processes and ensures alignment across specific performance outcomes. We are excited to work with RFER to deploy a configurable operating system that can grow with them, drive efficiency and produce the insights and actionable intelligence needed to support decision making,” said Stephen Smith, Founder and CEO of Kitman Labs, whose technology has already been used by teams in the NFL, NBA, Premier League, MLS and NCAA.
