Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus said on Monday that the possibility of going to the quarterfinals of the Champions League is sufficient motivation for him and his teammates in the second leg against Sevilla on Tuesday and recalled that the club has not reached that stage for a while.
“Going to the next round means a lot to all of us. It would make us proud because in recent years we have not succeeded, ”said Reus.
“That is motivation enough for everyone,” he added.
After a 2-3 victory in the first leg, Dortmund are off with a good chance of reaching the quarterfinals for the first time since 2017.
On that occasion, Dortmund was eliminated by Monaco in a tie that was overshadowed by an attack on the German team's bus.
