Report: The Warriors will look at the trade marketplace to acquire Klay Thompson and two other veterans.

Just a few days remain until the NBA trade deadline, and the Warriors are likely to make some moves. But Shams Charania of The Athletic gave some more information about how the Warriors plan to handle the trade deadline on Monday morning.

With a 19-24 record and 12th spot in the Western Conference, it’s clear that Golden State needs to make changes. What those changes might look like, though, hasn’t been as clear.

“The Warriors have it bad. Charania said in FanDuel’s “Run It Back” that they had lost six of their last eight games. “We talked about it.” Steph Curry is not at the table with the other people.

When you think about it, Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Poziemski are two guys they like and want for the long term. They see them as an important part of their future.

“They’ll be taking calls from Andrew Wiggins and Chris Paul. Maybe they’ll even get interested in a guy like Klay Thompson.” The Warriors should feel free to talk about those things.

They need to have an open mind. In 12th place, this team has lost five games and is five games below 500.

We’ll wait 10 days to see if anything changes. Wiggins as well as Paul have been linked to trade rumors in the past few weeks, but Thompson’s inclusion may come as a shock to some.

Thompson has played his whole NBA career for the Warriors, and he has said that he would like to retire with the team that picked him with the 11th overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft.

The Splash Bro had a rough start to the year because he wasn’t consistent, but in recent games, he’s shown signs of being himself again.

The 33-year-old averages 17.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 42 games. He shoots 42.1% from the field and 38.5% from three-point range.

Wiggins, on the other hand, is still having trouble with his early-season problems. Wiggins is averaging 12.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists within 39 games. He is shooting 43.4% from the line and 31.4% from three-point range, which are all career lows.

At one point in the season, his problems caused him to lose his spot in the starting lineup while Warriors coach Steve Kerr tried out different lineups to see what worked best.

The Warriors are playing better hoops as a whole, but they’ve lost too many close games and blown additionally many leads.

All of this is just a guess for now, but the Warriors shortage to make big changes if they want to get back into the NBA playoff picture. The time is running out.

NBA stars are often involved in the off-season business of their teams, and the Golden State Warriors are no different. Kevin Durant famously joined the team in 2016 because of their star players, but it wasn’t hard for the Warriors to arrive at that choice.

To sign him, they only had to free up cap space, which was made a lot easier by the 2016 cap spike. Things are very different now than they were five years ago.

Marcus Thompson of The Athletic says that Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson “have made explicit to management that they want the brand to focus on the pursuit of a championship,” and that they might even use their two lottery picks to get someone who can help right away.

Thompson says that Bradley Beal, a guard for the Washington Wizards, could be a target. However, the Wizards haven’t been reported as having made Beal available, and Beal has not asked Washington to make a deal.

All three of these assets could help the Warriors get one very good player or even several veterans who are good enough to start. Bob Myers, the general manager, has said that next year’s team needs to have more veterans.
