Relief in ‘Can Barça’: Araújo returns home

Absolute relief at FC Barcelona: Ronald Araújo was discharged from hospital yesterday afternoon and has already spent the rest of the day at home. As AS has learned, the Uruguayan center-back had a good night and the tests to which he was subjected have ruled out any sequel, so he received permission from the doctors to leave the hospital at noon on Wednesday and it is not even ruled out that he could be under Xavi’s orders next Sunday in the game that Barcelona plays against Getafe

An accumulation, without a doubt, of good news for the player and the fans, who for a few minutes had their hearts in their mouths, seeing Araújo collapsed on the pitch, being attended by Eric Garcia, who put him in a fetal position seeing that he had problems even breathing, totally shocked after receiving a blow to the head from his teammate Gavi, and the ambulance entered at the foot of the field to assist the player. They were very hard moments, where the Camp Nou was frozen and totally silentwhile the medical team urgently maneuvered to avoid greater evils, quickly putting a collar on the player and transferring him to the Barcelona Hospital.

Fortunatelythe news that began to arrive from the clinical center was encouraging. Araújo’s family, who traveled minutes later to the Barcelona Hospital Emergency Department, was already receiving encouragement from the club’s staff, assuring them that everything was under control and that the player was already conscious. From the club a statement was issued speaking of “a shock”, but the following hours the tension was lowered, since from the hospital a strong blow was pointed out, ruling out any type of sequel. In any case, the player was going to spend the night in the hospital as a simple precaution.

This morning, reports were still very positive. “He’s getting better,” they pointed out succinctly from the Blaugrana dressing room, while the club’s medical services confirmed that Araújo “will be discharged today.”

So that, an incident that will ultimately remain a scare, but one of those that leave you breathless for a while.
