Red Bull extends its agreement with Honda until 2025

Honda will continue to provide technical support and collaboration to the Austrian team

MADRID, 2 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Red Bull team announced this Tuesday that Honda will continue to provide technical support for its power units until the end of 2025, so the team of reigning world champion Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez once again trusts the Japanese giant as a partner.

“Red Bull and Honda are pleased to announce that the technical support program that helped bring Oracle Red Bull to the top of Formula 1 in 2022 will run from 2023 to the end of 2025, with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), the subsidiary of Honda responsible for its racing activities,” Red Bull announced.

After Honda exited as a Formula 1 team at the end of 2021, and supported the creation of Red Bull Powertrains, Honda agreed to provide technical assistance with the current power units, in a deal now extended for a further two years.

“The collaboration has resulted in another winning campaign, with Oracle Red Bull Racing currently leading the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship for Drivers and Constructors. And as a result of the continued success of the partnership, the initial technical agreement is now through the end of 2025. “, pointed out from the team based in Milton Keynes.

Red Bull Racing CEO and Team Principal Christian Horner said Red Bull’s partnership with Honda had been “incredibly successful”. “We are pleased that it will continue until the end of the current era of FIA power unit regulations in 2025,” he said.

Team advisor Helmut Marko thanked Honda for their positive response to working together. “We are excited to continue our partnership in F1 through the end of 2025 with Honda. We have had a successful relationship so far, winning the drivers’ championship in 2021 and currently leading the drivers’ and teams’ standings,” he celebrated.

For his part, the president of Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), Koji Watanabe, assured that continuing to support Red Bull in Formula 1 through HRC allows the company “to fulfill its existing resources”. “Once again, our goal is to use our participation in the elite of motorsports for the development of technologies and our workforce,” he said.
