Record of positives by covid in the Premier

This season the highest number so far were the 16 positives that occurred between August 16 and 22. The 42 of this past week are the highest number of positives in the Premier after 40 in January 2021.

The Premier urged its clubs to activate the anticovid protocol and more tests will be carried out on players and employees, up to once a day if necessary. It should be borne in mind that two matches of the English championship have already had to be postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak: Brighton-Tottenham (which was scheduled for last Sunday) and Brentford-Manchester United (to be played this Tuesday).

One 40 percent of covid cases in the UK are due to the new variant, omicron, as reported this Monday by Boris Johnson, British Prime Minister. Boris Johnson himself claimed that at least one person has died in the UK from this variant.
