Recoletas Burgos-Caja Rural became champion of the Copa del Rey rugby for the first time in its history by beating VRAC Quesos Entrepinares (19-20) at the Ciutat de Valencia Stadium.
The Burgos team took revenge for the last Cup and League finals in front of more than 12,000 fans. Recoletas Burgos-Caja Rural started well but without scoring their chances, so the Pucelanos added a favorable score until 14-3.
VRAC Quesos Entrepinares increased its lead in the restart to a 19-6 that seemed definitive, but the dominator of national rugby in the last decade was met with a strong comeback from a Recoletas Burgos-Caja Rural that won its first Cup.
