Masarova, 140 in the world ranking, surpassed her debut at the Sporting Club de Tenis facilities, which experienced the start of the main draw, by beating the Polish Maja Chwalinska in two sets 6-1, 7-5.

The Spanish player dominated the first set with great authority, going ahead in the second and even had a serve with 5-4. However, her rival, after saving two match points, managed to equalize, although her joy did not last long because she gave up her service again and Masarova did not forgive to meet the Chinese Xiyu Wang in the next round. .

On the other hand, her compatriot Aliona Bolsova was not so lucky, one of those invited by the organization of the tournament led by Anabel Medina and who fell to the Swedish Mirjam Bjorklund, who came from behind to win 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 . The Spanish could not take advantage of 5-3 and serve in the third and final set.
