The ex-partner and alleged killer of Ugandan athlete Rebecca Cheptegei died on Tuesday after being seriously injured during the attack on the athlete and after succumbing to his injuries and burns at Moi Hospital in the Kenyan city of Eldoret, according to local media.
Following the fatal attack on Olympic marathon athlete Rebecca Cheptegei in Kenya, the alleged perpetrator has also died. According to police, Cheptegei’s ex-partner doused her with petrol and set her on fire during an argument over land on 1 September, and he also suffered 30% burns. He was then admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the same hospital where the Ugandan woman was admitted, where she eventually died.
