Real Sociedad makes official the signing of Kubo from Real Madrid

The midfielder signs until June 2027

MADRID, 19 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Japanese Takefusa Kubo is now officially a Real Sociedad player, after both the ‘txuri-urdin’ club and Real Madrid have announced an agreement linking the midfielder to the Basque team until the 2026-2027 season, according to a statement

“Real Sociedad has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Take Kubo. La Real, in turn, has reached an agreement with the player until the end of the 26-27 season. He will wear number 14”, confirmed the San Sebastián club, after presenting the player at a press conference this Tuesday.

Kubo, 21 years old, was born in Kawasaki (Japan). At just 10 years old he enrolled in the lower categories of FC Barcelona. Bureaucratic problems forced him to return to the Japanese country in 2015 to play for FC Tokyo, a club with which he made his debut in the First Division at just 15 years old. After a few months on loan at Yokohama Marinos and his return to the club of origin, Kubo signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 and, in these years, he was loaned to Mallorca, Villarreal, Getafe and again to the vermilion team, where he played. last campaign. He is an absolute international with the Japanese team.

From Real Sociedad they highlighted his “experience” despite being only 21 years old. “Kubo arrives at Real to bring his quality, self-confidence and dynamism to the offensive game,” the statement added.

For its part, Real Madrid thanked Kubo in a statement for “his work and dedication” during the time he has worn the white shirt. “Real Madrid wishes him and his family all the best in this new stage of his life,” said the Madrid club.

During his presentation, the Japanese assured that in the last year he has seen two compatriots “win the Europa League” and that now he has “the opportunity to look for that” at Real Sociedad, his new team, which he sees “very ambition” and where he knows he will have a lot of competition.

The Japanese sees his new team as “very young, with a lot of ambition and a lot of desire”, and he was “happy to be a part” of the club. Kubo was attracted by the power “to play in a strong team, with very good players” and “on top of his style”. “Couldn’t ask for more,” he settled it.
