Real Sociedad falls to Levante and leaves Barça alone at the head of the Primera Iberdrola

MADRID, 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona remained as the solo leader of the classification of the Primera Iberdrola 2021-2022 after beating Sporting de Huelva by 0-5 and taking advantage of the first defeat of the Real Sociedad campaign in the visit of Levante (0- 1), while Atlético de Madrid could not win in Tenerife and Real Madrid conceded another defeat in Seville, in matches corresponding to the seventh day of the tournament.

The current champions are still unstoppable in the championship and did not slow down their cruising speed in Huelva where they took the three points to add 21 with 43 goals in favor. Jonatan Giráldez’s team was only able to pierce the local goal with an own goal by Stephanie Blanco in the first half, but in the second he accelerated and sentenced with goals from Alexia Putellas, Irene Paredes and, twice, Aitana Bonmatí.

The seventh victory of the Blaugranas could not be replicated this time by Real Sociedad, who saw their great start to the campaign stopped when they fell at home against a Levante that goes from less to more and that took all three points with a goal of Carolina Pérez in minute 89 to place herself fourth. The royalists played with ten from minute 39 for the red to Vanegas.

In addition, from the rest of the chase of the leaders, Atlético de Madrid fell to fifth place tied with the ‘granotas’ after not going from a tie to a goal in the always complicated visit to UD Granadilla Tenerife Egatesa. Ludmila da Silva put the mattresses ahead very early, but María José Pérez equalized before the quarter hour.

For its part, Deportivo Alavés Gloriosas was confirmed as the revelation at this start of the season and took home victory against Madrid CFF by 0-1, while Real Madrid again conceded another defeat to get further away from the high places by losing forcefully in his visit to Sevilla 3-0, with a great goal from Inma Gabarro.

Finally, Athletic Club beat Villarreal 2-1, Valencia opened its winning record by defeating Rayo Vallecano 1-0, who remains behind with a point and Betis moved away from the lower zone after winning in his visit to Eibar for 1-2.
