MADRID, 13 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Madrid and BMW Spain have signed a collaboration agreement to develop initiatives in the mobility of the future, sustainability and diversity, according to the white club in a statement.
The event was held in the meeting room of Real Madrid City and was chaired by the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, and Manuel Terroba, executive president of BMW Group Spain and Portugal.
By virtue of this agreement, the first men’s and women’s soccer teams of Real Madrid and the basketball team, as well as their respective coaching staff, will have 100% electric BMW vehicles for their mobility, which they will be able to choose from among the current iX models, i4, iX3, i7 or iX1.
Both entities will create a collaboration center for sustainability in which, through regular work sessions together with other club collaborators, good practices will be shared in order to achieve common learning. This forum will serve as a generator of ideas aimed at promoting innovative projects that have a positive impact on the environment and society.
“Real Madrid represents not only the world’s leading sports institution, but also an entity in constant evolution, seeking excellence in its activities through demand, talent, quality and leadership, as well as a firm commitment to sustainability, solidarity, diversity and a winning spirit. That makes it the perfect partner to face present and future challenges. From both institutions we will work together for these values and especially for respect for the environment, which translates into in a commitment to sustainable mobility that comes from afar, since precisely, in 2022, the BMW Group will celebrate 50 years since it showed its first electric BMW”, said Manuel Terroba, president of BMW Group Spain.
Another purpose of this alliance is to work on specific initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of the new Santiago Bernabéu stadium. The NEXT Sustainability Trophy will also be created, which will award projects on innovation and sustainability of the participants to give visibility to all those initiatives that contribute to improving the environment.
