Defeat (2-1) for the Madridistas in their visit to Häcken
MADRID, 23 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Madrid lost 2-1 this Thursday on their visit to BK Häcken, in a match corresponding to matchday 2 of the group stage in the Women’s Champions League, a result that complicated the course of the Madridistas in this competition.
At the Bravida Arena in Gothenburg, the local team started better with balls into the area defended by Misa Rodríguez, although without really putting the merengue goalkeeper in trouble. Not in vain, Real Madrid struck first with the 0-1 lead just after the 9th minute.
In an offensive start, center back Ivana Andrés reached the three-quarter line and made a one-two with her teammate Signe Bruun. After controlling the ball, the captain shot low and the local goalkeeper deflected it to the post, but the Dane was very attentive to the rebound to score.
Although Häcken looked for an equalizer throughout the first half, they needed more firepower from their most advanced player, Felicia Schröder. Misa Rodríguez did not seem bothered and, furthermore, from afar she witnessed how her team’s attackers were being beaten.
Bruun herself had a dangerous shot in the 40th minute, which went into the side of the net, and Olga Carmona then crashed a left-footed shot into the post, thanks to a shot from the edge of the area and which almost surprised the Häcken goalkeeper with a ‘folha seca’ effect.
However, the players coached by Alberto Toril gradually faded after the break. The dominance of the Swedish team was palpable and the score was 1-1 in the 59th minute, after Rosa Kafaji took advantage of a dead ball at the top of the area, following a weak clearance by Rocío Gálvez in a cross from Anna Anvegard.
KAFAJI GUIDE THE REMONTADA
With inertia in their favor, the locals completed their comeback thanks to a slalom by Kafaji on the left wing; Having bypassed two rivals, the scorer of the tie went to the opposite side so that Katariina Kosola controlled the ball, got in line and hooked a left-footed shot into the top corner.
Toril made several changes immediately, with the intention of hitting the right key, and that led to the final minutes with a merengue siege on Jennifer Falk’s goal. But the insistence this time did not bear fruit, as it had done on matchday 1 against Chelsea FC to save a tie with a controversial penalty in the second half.
In Gothenburg, the final whistle from referee Ivana Projkovska confirmed Real Madrid’s setback, which is left with only one point in Group D. For its part, Häcken reached six points by adding its second victory, linked with that of the first day against Paris FC.
