MADRID, 8 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Madrid beat Egyptian Al Ahly (1-4) this Wednesday to gain access to the Club World Cup final being played in Rabat, an exchange of chances that the Spanish team won to meet for the title on Saturday with the Al Hilal Saudi.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men blamed the losses on Prince Moulay Abdellah and the offensive commitment of the 10-time African champion. After a long-suffering first half, with Al Ahly’s best chances, Vinicius made it 0-1 just before the break and, in the first minute of the second half, Valverde doubled the lead.
Despite having the pass on track, Madrid gave up ground from a penalty, which Maaloul converted on 65′. Al Ahly went ahead again and was close to drawing, while Luka Modric pardoned the penalty sentence in the 87th minute, but not Rodrygo and Sergio Arribas with both goals already in discount (1-4).
Madrid, who won the tournament in 2018 for the seventh and last time, will face Al Hilal on Saturday (8:00 p.m.) for the title, who surprised Brazilian Flamengo on Tuesday.
