Real Madrid says goodbye to the women’s Champions League with a win

MADRID, 23 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid said goodbye to the highest European competition with a victory (5-1) against Albanian KFF Vllaznia, in the game that closed the Group Phase of the Women’s Champions League, after a match, with nothing at stake, which White had to come back to close the year 2022 with a win.

After losing last Friday in the Parque de los Príncipes against French Paris Saint-Germain, the team coached by Alberto Toril said goodbye to the women’s Champions League, without being able to even have options on this last day, where their rival did not play either any.

In this way, the white team closed their third place in Group A with 8 points, while Vllaznia failed to score any points, but they did score their first goal in the entire competition. Goals from Weir, Teresa (who scored a brace), Carla Camacho and Paula Partido sealed the victory for the Real Madrid team at the Alfredo Di Stéfano.

Although the team led by Alberto Toril found themselves up against a goal very soon, after Doci’s free kick after five minutes, the Whites knew how to react thanks to Weir’s goal, which culminated with a great personal move with his left foot. Good reaction from White who sealed the match in just twenty minutes.

Thus, Tere Abelleira took advantage of a rebound on 18′ to put the Whites ahead and three minutes later the Galician midfielder signed her double from a penalty. Exceptional first half for the locals who knew how to maintain the intensity after the restart despite the fact that Toril decided to move the bench to give minutes to the less usual.

Thus, Carla Camacho and Paula Partido jumped onto the pitch to delight Di Stéfano. Precisely the two youth squads were in charge of scoring the last two goals in their scoring debuts in the Champions League.

First, Camacho made it 4-1 in minute 78 by taking advantage of the goalkeeper’s rebound after a header from Rocío. And on minute 83, Paula Partido made it 5-1 after a powerful shot with her left foot inside the area, against which the American Williams-Moiser could do little or nothing.
