Real Madrid hit the morale of Baskonia

Laso’s men overwhelm Spahija’s and remain Euroleague leaders

MADRID, 25 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid beat Bitci Baskonia (60-88) this Thursday on matchday 12 of the Euroleague, held at the Fernando Buesa Arena, to continue leading the table and complicate the reaction that the Basques are seeking after the dismissal of Dusko Ivanovic ago 10 days.

In search of his resurrection, Spahija’s Baskonia had a big white box. Madrid put everything on the grill at the Buesa Arena so as not to give air or life to a sleeping giant. Laso’s men entered with a 14-25 and left 19 up at the break (34-53).

The local team weakened in defense, again supported by Enoch and with the green shoots that accompany Baldwin, but with zero points from Granger at the end of the game, and Madrid’s attack was better distributed, better selected. The triples of Rudy Fernández, Heurtel and Llull, the aggressiveness of Abalde and the entries of Causeur were great weapons of the whites in the first half.

A lot of homework for a Baskonia in need of victories. The internal dominance of Madrid ended up breaking the balance for the victory to fly from the Buesa Arena. The Basques left a couple of good defenses in the resumption with Peters, but Madrid kept their mattress, rounded off the horn by Hanga (47-71).

Abalde continued with his strength under hoops, interior superiority also of Yabusele, Poirier and Tavares, and Baskonia could not fight him at least as against CSKA. Laso’s men did not lower the bar, with Llull and Heurtel liking each other, and are still at the top of the Euroleague, with 10-2, in hand-to-hand with a Barça that this Friday plays against Zalgiris. The Basques stay 4-8.
