Real Madrid continues celebrating

The Madrid team, with Courtois and Vinícius as protagonists, barely had any problems beating a weak Alavés (5-0)

MADRID, 14 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid added three new points in LaLiga EA Sports 2023-2024 and continued with its festive atmosphere after clearly winning 5-0 this Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium against a weak Deportivo Alavés, who barely put up any resistance and were already left any option before the break.

The joy is still established in the Madrid team that, after celebrating the league title with its fans a week late, extended the celebration with a win in a ‘white glove’ match and against an opponent that was far from the necessary intensity to create problems for a team that is two games away from a league season to remember.

The champion did not need to put too much rhythm into a match that got back on track very quickly with an eleven that may be very similar to the one that Carlo Ancelotti will have on June 1 at Wembley in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund and to which he aspires more and more Thibaut Courtois.

The Belgian goalkeeper dealt with the job he had very firmly, with a dozen saves, some that were reminiscent of the one before the injury. Next to him, Vinícius Jr. shone, scoring a double and never letting up, while Jude Bellingham had more ‘spark’ with a goal and two assists.

After offering their EA Sports LaLiga champion trophy, Real Madrid immediately took control of the match, although beforehand they received a small scare with a loose ball in the area and with Courtois covering Samu Omorodion well. The Under-21 international’s attempt was the only ‘babazorro’ in the first 45 minutes along with a powerful shot from Ianis Hagi, a surname well remembered at the Bernabéu, well repelled by the Belgian.

The rest was all in Madrid color. Driven by Vinícius Jr, always incisive in all his actions, Real Madrid scored early, not through the Brazilian but through his top scorer, Bellingham, who ‘hunted’ a good pass from Toni Kroos with his left foot to send the ball parabolically to the Owono net, started by Antonio Sivera, although his first wish was to look for the entry of Dani Carvajal.

The early goal, the Englishman’s nineteenth goal, seemed to ‘kill’ any attempt at resistance by Luis García Plaza’s men, who did not impudently lock themselves in and offered spaces for the local offensive ‘trident’ to run. However, the 2-0 came in another way, with Bellingham filtering a great pass to Camavinga, whose maneuver in the area allowed him to find ‘Vini’, again in his ‘9’ position, to push the score to 2-0 .

COURTOIS AND VINÍCIUS SHINE

The ‘7’, who finished the first half more towards the right to accommodate Rodrygo on ‘his’ side, continued trying until half-time, which was reached 3-0 after a powerful shot by Fede Valverde after a pass from Bellingham . Second goal in the League for the Uruguayan, which he had not scored since September against Real Sociedad.

After going through the locker room, the script did not change much. The two coaches did not make any changes and Real Madrid continued to dominate, but the main protagonist was Courtois, with two worthy saves, especially one from a close shot from Hagi who had made a delicious control. Owono responded with another good hand to Rodrygo.

Arda Güler, for a Camavinga who had left a hint of a Maradonian play, was Ancelotti’s first change, while García Plaza made a triple (Guridi, Tenaglia and Alkain) to try to add some excitement to a clash without alterations and where Carvajal almost made it 4-0 after a great pass from Bellingham.

It did arrive shortly after after another assist from the Englishman turned into a great goal from Vinícius. The champion continued to enjoy himself and despite the efforts of Owono, who made Rodrygo’s night bitter, Güler continued with his love affair with the goal to close the ‘little hand’ and Courtois continued to abort the visitors’ options to make up the score.
