Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic ask CSD for help

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic, the three clubs opposed to the Impulso financing project proposed by LaLiga and promoters of the Sustainable Plan (another different means of financing), have published a last statement. In it, they assure that they have informed the Superior Council of Sports whatIn his opinion, it is a great irregularity, that on the 10th the Impulse Project is voted in the Assembly of the League. According to Cadena SER, the CSD is considering issuing a statement this Thursday and paralyzing the vote to study LaLiga’s plan.

This is the full statement issued by these three clubs.

We share the terms of the statement sent today by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), reiterating once again that the La Liga Impulso Project is incompatible with our legal system and that, consequently, it should not be carried out.

We confirm to our partners and fans that, like the RFEF requests the intervention of the competent authorities for these purposes, yesterday Athletic Club, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid sent a communication to the Superior Sports Council, since, in The exercise of its powers, has the duty to avoid consuming irreparable damage to our football, noting in particular that:

• The Extraordinary General Assembly of La Liga called for next December 10, 2021, “intends to definitively consummate a flagrant violation of the legal regime applicable to La Liga and the audiovisual rights of Spanish football.”

• La Liga’s reaction to the repeated requests of the three clubs “has been to undertake a harsh campaign of attacks, misinformation and, above all, to refuse to assess the proposed alternative” while keeping their plans intact.

• “Article 8.s) of the Sports Law grants the Higher Sports Council a function of guarantor of the legality of the application of the regulations that regulate the world of sport”.

• If the Higher Sports Council does not act “in the exercise of its powers, serious irregularities could be committed that seriously compromise not only the economic future of Spanish football, but also the legal framework that the legislator adopted for the governance of this sport.”

• In any case, if “La Liga’s plans in relation to the La Liga Impulso Project are approved, we will have the inescapable obligation to exercise the corresponding legal actions, of the appropriate legal nature.”
