Real Madrid and Sanitas have signed a new three-year renewal agreement under which the healthcare company will continue to be the club’s Official Medical Provider until at least 2027, according to a statement.
In this way, both entities will celebrate 25 seasons of health and triumph together once this renewal agreement ends, announced at an event that took place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and was attended by the CEO of Sanitas and Bupa ELA, Iñaki Peralta; the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez; the director of Institutional Relations of the club, Emilio Butragueño; and the first team player Misa Rodríguez.
“We share values with Real Madrid such as effort, sportsmanship and the pursuit of excellence. That is why we aim to optimise the physical and mental performance of the best players in the world. We want the club to maintain its place among the elite of sport, supporting the health and wellbeing of athletes in their greatest challenges,” said Peralta.
The healthcare company has been the club’s Official Medical Provider since 2002. Since then, it has provided the football and basketball teams with “comprehensive healthcare, the best medical professionals and diagnostic tests, as well as the main technological and healthcare advances that place it at the forefront of sports medicine.”
In addition, they have access to Blua, the digital health ecosystem developed by Sanitas, which “offers digital services that promote more personalized medicine that is accessible from anywhere.”
The foundations of both entities have also been collaborating, and last June, Fundación Sanitas and Fundación Real Madrid renewed their alliance for another year. This agreement translates into several inclusive football and basketball initiatives, promoted to integrate children and young people with different abilities into sports. Thus, each season, more than 150 children and young people participate in these activities, in a collaboration that began in 2009.
