Real Madrid and FC Barcelona remain the ones with the most audiovisual income in LaLiga EA Sports

MADRID, 29 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga made public this Friday the official data corresponding to the distribution by season of the commercialization of television rights provided for by the Royal Decree-Law of 2015 and according to which Real Madrid and FC Barcelona remain the most prominent in LaLiga EA Sports.

According to the employers' association in a press release, the Madrid team and the Blaugrana “are among the European teams with the highest amount of income from the distribution of audiovisual rights” and are “at the level of the six Premier League clubs that earn the most “.

Thus, of the more than 1,370 million raised, Real Madrid was the most earned by LaLiga EA Sports in the 2022-2023 season, with a total of 155.79 million euros (161.54 with the adjustment of 'LaLiga Impulso' ), for FC Barcelona's 155.10 (160.53). These two clubs and Atlético de Madrid, which earned 120.43 million (119.03), are the only ones that pass the 100 million barrier, with Sevilla FC, with more than 83 million, and Betis, with close to 71, completing the 'Top 5'.

“If we add Atlético de Madrid, the three have a revenue figure from the distribution of audiovisual rights above any club in the German Bundesliga, the Italian Serie A and the French Ligue 1,” LaLiga warned.

On the other hand, regarding LaLiga Hypermotion, the Second Division, the three clubs that have received the most money are Alavés and Levante, with just over 28 million, and Granada, with almost 24 million.

The organization chaired by Javier Tebas also stressed that income from the commercialization of audiovisual rights has grown by 19 percent, from €1,344M to €1,595M, without counting the Copa del Rey and without the effect of the 'Impulse Plan', since the 2016-2017 season compared to the Premier League, which has grown around 5 percent in the same period.

For the employers' association, this is “a good figure taking into account that in the United Kingdom the number of pay television subscribers is double that of Spain (14 million compared to more than 6.4 million), the number of subscribers to OTT platforms is also more than double in the United Kingdom than in Spain (49 million-21 million)”, without forgetting that Great Britain has “a greater number of inhabitants, households and a higher level of per capita income than in Spain”.
