Real Madrid fulfilled (3-1) this Wednesday at the Alfredo Di Stefano against the Austrian Salzburg to advance to the quarterfinals of the Youth League, while Atlético de Madrid did the same with a win (4-1) against Belgian Genk at the Wanda Metropolitano and FC Barcelona was unable to overcome (0-3) Dutch AZ Alkmaar.
The team led by Álvaro Arbeloa, who started losing with a penalty goal in the first half, managed to overcome at the start of the second with goals from Pol Fortuny and Jacobo after two good plays by the Whites. Iker Bravo finished off the comeback in discount with a spectacular free kick.
The opposite side of the coin was signed by FC Barcelona, which with its massive defeat prevented there being a ‘mini’ Clásico in the next round of the Youth League since AZ will now be a rival of the whites.
