RdT: “People are going to demand us and that should be the mentality”

With the sequence of Keidi Bare raising his fists to the ledge of the RCDE Stadium, like a conqueror who arrives victorious and greets his faithful, the last episode of the TV3 documentary started with the collaboration of the club RCDE Indise: La nostra vida. In another half hour of parakeet feeling, where the fan has a leading role, past and future come together between celebrations for promotion and reflections on an exciting future, the one that visualizes the entity, headed by the president Chen yansheng.

Images of Guangzhou , where Rastar Group has its headquarters, they introduce a president who supervises their companies and who reflects, as he describes with “relief”, the return of Espanyol to First. “I am proud of all the people of the club and of being the president. We have taken a step back to take two steps forward, but we have a lot of work to do. We seek to jump and grow, but with caution. We want the club to be more solid.”he commented from his vantage point.

The documentary has emotional moments, like those starring José Antonio Camacho, who visits a lonely RCDE Stadium to also lift the Second Champions Cup, which he achieved in the 1993-94 academic year, and to recall from the stadium auditorium his years of technical: “The key is the mentality. This hobby never leaves the team. I got that promotion and we had two very good years in First Division. I was always one more parakeet.”

“The dream is to win a League or go to the Champions League”

From that past one jumps to the future, represented by Raúl de Tomás, whose phrase synthesizes the entity's message: “The fans are going to demand us and that should be the mentality.” A ruling in which the CEO, Josep Maria Durán, is more ambivalent: “We must be realistic and pragmatic. The first thing is to consolidate ourselves in the First Division.” But then he added to the euphoria: “The dream is to win a League or go to a Champions League”. Phrases that are in tune with the presentation by Francisco Rufete, sports director, who commented that “we have to be a winning club.”

Away from the offices, on the pitch, Vicente Moreno's coaching staff delved into Espanyol's merits. The phrase from Málaga coach Sergio Pellicer perfectly sums up what the team wanted to convey: “They play like a rich man and run like a poor man”. Dani Pastor, Moreno's assistant, testified that they were the team that did the most kilometers and that spirit is typical of the coach.

Again between the past and the future Javi Puado emerged, who with his renewal in vogue, spoke of his parakeet feeling: “I am happy here, with friends, family …”. A stone, that of Puado, that would help to continue consolidating that project in which everyone dreams, both in Barcelona and in Guangzhou.
