Rayo-Albacete is also read

Football not only smells like grass, it also smells like ink. This sport – this passion – occupies more and more pages and many teams are the protagonists of their own books. Something unthinkable years ago, when stories were hardly told that were not embodied by the almighty Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atlético. But this Monday, Vallecas hosts a Rayo-Albacete, a match that can be read today, April 23, Book Day. And it is that both sets have their own copy, thanks to the collection 'Hooligans Ilustrados' of the publishing house Libros del K.O.

The journalist Quique Peinado (Vallecas, 1979) is the author of 'A las armas'. Through their experiences the neighborhood is discovered a little more —Of whom he is a lover and confessed neighborhoodist: “Writing the book I realized his influence on me” – and the lightning, with its idiosyncrasies and its values. Also those of a combative hobby, who has made the fight against racism, gender-based violence or evictions its own, with a strong personality and ideology. The Strip, the rock The PetasHell of Second B the banner 'No to beautiful football', the Tamudazo and the tears of José Ajero, the hymn as a lullaby for his son… are just some of the memories that dot those 112 pages.

Our colleague from AS Alfredo Matilla (Alcázar de San Juan, 1982) signs 'Just in case', a book in which he reveals that strong bond that unites him to Albacete. There he trained as a player for three years —In his youthful stage, from 98-00—, before so did his cousin Javier Matilla, and that his course turned towards sports journalism. Mati back up this story with pieces of yours, with his experiences alongside technicians such as Juan Navarro or that match he shared with Benito Floro, these moments at the Campus Residence for promises against Belmonte with Pablo Ibáñez, his dreams as a footballer or the I went through the 'Mechanical Cheese' of greats like Morientes or Diego Costa… All in 174 pages.

Alberto García, author in 'Investment and Sports'

The captain of Rayo, Alberto García, is also celebrating this Book Day. The goalkeeper is the author of one of the epigraphs of the work 'Investment and Sport', coordinated by Luis García Álvarez and in which they also participate experts in the fields of finance, the sports industry and economic research, such as Eduardo Cerdán, Javier Flórez, Juan Huerta de Soto, Paco Lodeiro, Julio García Mera, Pedro Rey Biel, Jorge Rodríguez, Adrián Godás, Javier Ruiz and the Marbella player —ex from Madrid and Getafe— Esteban Granero. Alberto contributes a reflection on the importance of the human factor in football.
