The Spanish women’s basketball team will not be able to count on center Raquel Carrera (Valencia Basket) for the last ‘window’ of qualification for this year’s Eurobasket, which will be held next week.
The ‘taronja’ team reported this Friday that the Galician sprained her ankle in the Euroleague match against Polkowice and shortly after the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) confirmed that she will not meet with the team next Monday and that she will not will be replaced by what Miguel Méndez will have 13 players for the home matches against Romania, on Thursday 9, and Iceland, on Sunday.
Carrera’s is the third loss due to injury suffered by the team which, for the same reason, already had to do without Alba Torrens and María Conde these days, replaced by María Eraunzetamurguil and Marta Canella. In addition to them, Méndez will have Cristina Ouviña, Laia Flores, Mariona Ortiz, Sandra Ygueravide, Ángela Salvadores, Andrea Vilaró, Laura Quevedo, Paula Ginzo, Irati Etxarri, María Araujo and Laura Gil for these two matches without any qualifying objective at stake for already have the ticket for the continental appointment.
