English Manchester United confirmed this Sunday the departure of veteran German coach Ralf Rangnick, who was to continue as an advisor after being the interim coach of the ‘Red Devils’, to focus “only” on the Austrian team.
“Ralf Rangnick has decided to step down from his position as a consultant due to the demands of his new job. By mutual agreement, Ralf will be stepping down as a consultant to focus solely on his new role as coach of the Austrian National Team. We wish him the best of luck.” in this new chapter of his career,” explained the English club in a statement.
The 63-year-old German took over Manchester United’s senior squad at the beginning of December, and led the team until the end of last season, while the club’s leadership defined the appointment of Erik ten Hag.
Now, Rangnick will take the reins of the Austrian National Team, guiding his new players in the matches against Croatia, Denmark and France within the framework of the UEFA Nations League.
