Rangnick is United’s trump card to sign Haaland

A horde of European giants are closely following the situation in Erling Haaland, whose idea and that of his environment is to leave Borussia Dortmund to go to another team next summer. The elimination in the Champions League has only confirmed that the striker is at a higher level with respect to the aspirations of the German team and, therefore, the idea is to find a club in which to fight for all the collective and individual titles. He’s even willing to put the economics aside and prioritize the sports car. Among those greats who want it are Real Madrid, Manchester City or Manchester United. The latter has made a move that may be definitive to secure the signing of the striker.

It is about the incorporation of Ralf Rangnick, who will be a coach until June and then occupy the position of consultant. The German knows Haaland and his family very well as he was the manager who convinced Erling to join Red Bull Salzburg in 2019 from Molde. Rangnick was, at that time, head of the sports field both in the Austrian team and in the German Red Bull Leipzig, of the same group. Not only did they manage to convince the player, who at that time already had more succulent offers economically, but they advised him to go to Austria to play and not to Germany since in the first destination he was going to have minutes more regularly and, if he performed as expected, he could make the leap later.

The choice was a success. Haaland played 27 games for Salzburg in which he scored 29 goals and aroused the interest of many greats, finally deciding on Borussia Dortmund. Since then, Rangnick has had a great relationship not only with the footballer, but also with his father, Alfie Haaland. In Manchester they hope that good treatment with the family can make a difference next summer, when the battle for his signing begins.

Madrid, like many others, remains waiting. In the noble floor of the Bernabéu they know that it is one of the jewels of the market, but also of the difficulty that it would be to bring it considering that it will be to compete economically with certain clubs.
