Ramos and Andújar fall in the first round of Geneva

MADRID, 17 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis players Albert Ramos and Pablo Andújar have said goodbye at the first change of the tournament in Geneva (Switzerland), in the ATP 250 category and played on clay, after falling this Tuesday in the first round against the Australian Christopher O’Connell ( 7-6(5), 6-4) and the Portuguese Joao Sousa (6-1, 6-4), respectively.

The Catalan, number 42 in the world, succumbed in the ‘tie-break’ of the first set after both tennis players were unable to break their opponent’s service. In the second round, a solitary breakage of the oceanic in the fifth game ended up condemning him.

For his part, the man from Cuenca, number 83 in the ATP ranking, was only able to win one of his services in the opening set. He led 3-0 in the second, but Sousa won five straight to close out the matchup on his third down.
