Ramos, according to Sport: “Piqué charges this, I want the same or more”

The newspaper Sport assures that the information offered about Gerard Piqué’s salary not only influenced the Barcelona central defender, but also Sergio Ramos. The one who was his duo partner in the National Team for several years, assures Sport, served as an example when it came to renewing with Real Madrid. This newspaper affirms that in each renewal of Ramos, he took out Piqué as an example to ask for a salary increase. “Piqué charges so much, because I want the same or more”, they quote in Sport as a usual negotiating argument for the center-back.

Sport adds that when Ramos found out what Piqué perceived, he tried to confirm the figures he had heard. Once he had done the ‘fact check’ that gave the news for certain, Sport assures that he was outraged seeing how the Barcelona center-back had received more than him for several seasons. “It’s true and I even think that this information still fell short” they quote in the newspaper about Piqué’s salary. These figures, always according to this newspaper, were brought up when he had to renew with the whites.

After arriving in 2005 from Sevilla in exchange for 27 million euros, Sergio Ramos closed his time at Real Madrid this past summer after not reaching an agreement to sign a new commitment with the whites. The one from Camas left the Santiago Bernabéu as a free agent and was signed by Paris Saint-Germain, where the same injury that he suffered in his last season in white is weighing down his start in France. At the moment, he barely accumulates 283 minutes in five games.
