Ramis: “The tie is still balanced despite the 1-0”

MADRID, 1 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The coach of Tenerife, Luis Miguel Ramis, assured that “the tie is still balanced despite the 1-0” they achieved this Wednesday against Las Palmas and stressed that everything will start “from scratch” this Saturday in the second leg of the ‘playoffs ‘ promotion to LaLiga Santander.

“It was a good game, played, with options for both of us, with a lot of tension and we managed to score a goal that gave us that advantage, but there are another 90 minutes left that will have to be worked on very well in their stadium. The tie remains balanced despite 1-0. I don’t deviate from what I told you. Their career is better than ours, you don’t have to be very smart to know this. They’ve finished one place higher in the league and they’ve done things better than us”, Ramis pointed out.

“It’s true, we’ve had situations to score but so have they because we’ve got a couple of balls, the result was fair at half-time, and in the second half everyone tried to do things well so that options appeared but without making mistakes. followed the plan that we thought we had to draw up and now I’m worried that my players will rest because on Saturday everything starts from scratch,” he said.

“The first 90 minutes are already spent and the tie is still alive for both of us. Whoever is the most successful will go ahead and we will face it with all the humility in the world as we have played so far. I have never had any doubts about my players, They have that quality engraved on fire since the beginning of the season that they have been trying. We have never had doubts, not even on day one, and I will not have them now. We are a team and as such we try to work, “he claimed.

On the controversial move with Álvaro Valles, the yellow goalkeeper, the chicharrero coach made it clear. “It seemed to me from the bench (red) and then it continued to seem like it to me. It’s not a penalty because the ball is not in play but he has to be sent off. It’s his turn because Andrés has a little mark on his nose,” he explained.

“The regulations say ‘give or try to give’ and the tension of the match makes one not want to make such important decisions. I don’t want them to give us anything but it doesn’t seem fair in that sense (…) The two teams have been intense and we have committed fouls, but for us to leave with a yellow card and them with nothing, it’s just for comparison and I don’t like that there are differences”, said Ramis.

For the second leg, the Tenerife coach recalled that “they have a lot of potential”. “I insist, we will have to play a very good game to overcome the tie. I imagine the game that I have to imagine and we are not going to say it. It is logical that the rival coach says that, they see themselves with possibilities, they are a good team but we trust in the work we do,” he said.

“Each game is already a final and it’s definitive. The next one will be the same. What we have to continue to show is this drive, energy and enthusiasm that we have. Never above or below anyone. We are a team of players who work together limit and that have an important collective meaning,” Ramis stressed.

Lastly, the former Real Madrid player was very grateful to the almost 20,000 fans who filled the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium. “The fans already knew that he was going to respond, it was very hot but it didn’t matter because that color was going to be in the stands. The players are not oblivious to that responsibility and the effort they must make to continue taking steps forward. That has been reflected in the field but there is no time for more, we have to rest and on Saturday this starts from scratch again”, he concluded.
