Rajon Rondo officially announces his retirement from the NBA at the age of 38

MADRID, 2 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

American point guard Rajon Rondo, 38 years old and 1.85 meters tall, officially announced his retirement from the NBA this Tuesday after having won two championship rings, first with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and then with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

During an interview on the ‘All the Smoke Productions’ podcast, Rondo confirmed his retirement. “Have we seen the last of Rajon Rondo in the NBA?” they asked him. “Absolutely,” responded the former player also from the Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers.

“Yes, I’m done, I can’t. I have to spend time… I’d rather spend time with my children than earn 200 million dollars and tell them certain things,” said Rondo, who throughout his career was elected four times for the All-Star (2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013).

In addition, he was the NBA’s top assist scorer three times (2012, 2013 and 2016), he was once the top ball retriever (2010), he was once on the Third Best Team of the season (2012) and he was included twice in the Best Defensive Team of the season (2010, 2011).
