Raíllo returns to the team after more than five months injured

The central defender and captain of Mallorca Antonio Raíllo will be under the command of coach Luis García Plaza in the coming days after recovering from a partial tear in the internal ligament of his right ankle that kept him away from the pitch for more than five months.

“The sensations are positive. After so much time stopped and the recovery, now I am content and happy and with very positive sensations”, Raíllo points out in statements collected by the Balearic club.

The Cordovan defender was only able to play the first league game on August 14 against Real Betis.

In October he went through the operating room and after a complex recovery process, he rushed the days to join the dynamics of. group.

“For me I would go back now. I would go back for the win, but the decision depends on the medical services and the physical trainer. The idea is that at the end of this week or the beginning of next week I will start working with the group”, he explained. .

Until the injury, Raíllo was the undisputed starter in the Vermilion defense alongside the Slovakian Martin Valjent.

His loss disrupted the plans of García Plaza, who has resorted to the Argentine Franco Russo, the Serbian Alexandar Sedlar and even the lateral Antonio Oliván to fill that position.

“I’m close to coming back,” says the Majorcan player. “After the operation and the month of rest, when I began little by little to work in the pool and in rehabilitation, my goal was clear there. When you set a goal for yourself, everything is easier,” he says.

And he adds: “I’m here to bring hope. Now that I’m back I’m here to bring that hope, the one you have as a small child who is doing what he likes. That hope can be spread in the group”.

Raíllo could return to a squad list next week in Vallecas against Rayo in the Copa del Rey or in the momentous LaLiga match against Cádiz in Son Moix.

“Any match is nice to come back to; after so long, you put me to play a friendly match and I would be just as happy”, remarked Antonio Raíllo.
