The Spanish tennis players Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz are among the nominees for the ATP awards, revealed this Wednesday, sharing the option of winning the Stefan Edberg for Sportsmanship, while the Murcian opts for two other awards.
Alcaraz, who finished the year as world number one for the first time in his career, and his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero received a total of three nominations at the 2022 ATP Awards, as the candidates for the four categories were revealed on the ATP website. voted for by players and Coach of the Year. The winners will be known from December 12.
The Murcian and his coach are up for the Most Improved Player and Coach of the Year awards, respectively, for the second consecutive season. Alcaraz is also nominated for the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award for the first time, alongside Felix Auger-Aliassime, five-time winner Rafael Nadal, Casper Ruud and Frances Tiafoe.
