The police are investigating the racist abuses directed against the ex-footballer and today commentator Ashley Cole during Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Swindon Town FC in the FA Cup, the fourth-division club said on Saturday.

“We are absolutely saddened and deeply disgusted by this and cannot emphasize enough that Swindon Town Football Club will not tolerate racial abuse of any kind,” Swindon owner Clem Morfuni said in a statement.
