MADRID, 16 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Decathlon's 'Race 940 S' of sports equipment.
“Everything about this bike has been designed for performance. It is a true racing machine, without compromising comfort. I am proud to have won five races with this bike since the start of the season,” declared Emeline Detilleux, champion of Belgium XCO 2023.
Thanks to the opinions, comments and requests of experts, this RACE 940 S Ltd model has been perfected, which is an exclusive edition for the most competitive cyclists with an ultra-limited availability of units for sale.
The frame is the same one used by the Rockrider Ford Racing Team riders. In other features, this model is equipped with an FSA carbon handlebar, SRAM XX SL AXS T-Type drivetrain and Mavic CrossMax XLR wheels.
The suspension combination is from RockShox, with a SID SL Ultimate paired with the Sid Luxe Ultimate. To ensure braking, the TRP Slate X2 is part of the setup.
For Luis Moro, Decathlon's mountain bike product manager, this bike has been a “challenge” of conception and development because they have had to respond to the highest level and highest demand athletes in a short period of time.
“We have developed it in just 14 months when, normally, it would take two years. We are very proud of this entire year of co-development with the team and of finally making it available to all cyclists,” said Moro.
In the RACE 940 S version, each component of this model has been carefully selected to achieve a balance between quality, price and performance. The frame, for its part, is exactly the same as that used by the professional team.
In this more affordable version, there is a self-made aluminum cockpit, Sram GX AXS T-Type transmission and Reynolds carbon wheels. The suspension combination is handled by RockShox, with an SID Base paired with an SID Luxe shock. The TRP X2 will also be included, as in the Ltd version, to ensure optimal braking performance.
