Quique did not want to say yes to Torres until Michel came out

The president of Getafe, Ángel Torres, contacted Quique Sánchez Flores on Sunday night to find out his availability to replace Míchel on the bench of the azulón team, but the former coach of Valencia, Atlético and Benfica, among other teams, reminded him that Míchel was still in charge and that he was not going to enter into negotiations when a teammate was still officially coach of the team. Once Michel was dismissed, they did negotiate and this Tuesday, in all probability, a new azulón coach will be elected.

The conversation between Torres and Flores was by telephone, and Quique wanted to make it clear from the first minute that his priority was to respect the figure of Míchel. It seems logical that Ángel Torres would have fired the coach first, which he finally did today, before contacting other technicians, and it was precisely the path that Quique Flores subtly indicated.

Míchel is the second coach fired this season after the dismissal by Levante of Paco López, just a few hours ago.
