MADRID, 8 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Chilean pilot Pablo Quintanilla (Honda) won this Monday on motorcycles the third stage of the 2024 Dakar Rally, held between Al Duwadimi and Al Salamiya with 438 kilometers of special, with the Spanish Joan Barreda (Hero) second and with the Botswanan Ross Branch (Hero) still as provisional general leader.

With this stage victory, Quintanilla achieves his seventh partial victory in the Dakar and equals his compatriot Nacho Cornejo in the number of victories by Chilean motorcycle riders.

Quintanilla, official rider of the Monster Energy Honda Team, achieved victory in this third stage, long and full of complications with various types of fast terrain, with a time of 4:37:42 hours and just 1:38 minutes of margin over the Spaniard Joan Barreda, with his official Hero after leaving Honda for this new Dakarian adventure.

For his part, Botswana Ross Branch, Barreda's teammate, maintains his lead in the general classification with a provisional advantage of 4:11 over José Ignacio Cornejo (Honda).
