MADRID, 11 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish rider Queralt Castellet hung the bronze medal this Saturday in the test that opened in Colorado (United States) the FIS World Cup of ‘halfpipe’, held in Copper Mountain.
Castellet, who swept in his debut with a leading round of 94.33 points, culminated his love affair with the American mountain and certified a hard-working bronze in a final that ran with eight competitors fighting for the podium in three rounds that were heart-stopping.
The Spanish woman resisted the first two rounds, but the third was the charm and with a great repertoire of tricks (Switch BS540, Cab7, FS5, BS5, FS720) she composed her final round that took her to the bronze medal, only behind the Chinese Xuetong Cai, gold, and the Japanese Sena Tomita, who was left with silver.
“I am very happy with my third position. It was a difficult day because the ‘pipe’ was quite complicated and although I wanted to do a more complicated round, in the end I had to choose to secure and do a round that gave me a good position. I am very happy with this third place and it is a very good way to start the season, “said the 32-year-old rider.
