PSV continues to lead and AZ squanders four goals ahead

PSV Eindhoven, Granada's rival in the Europa League, remains in the leading group of the Dutch league with their victory against Fortuna Sittard (2-0), while Real Sociedad opponent AZ Alkmaar squandered four goals ahead at Sparta Rotterdam and ended up drawing 4-4.

A goal at the beginning of Donyell Malen and another at the end of the Englishman Chukwunonso Madueke sealed the triumph of the Eindhoven team at his Philips Stadion, thus continuing at the top of the table, equaled ten points with Feyenoord and Heerenveen.

Incredible was the match played at the Sparta stadium, because AZ Alkmaar went on to lead 0-4 after doublets by Zakaria Aboukhlal and Dani de Wit. Even Teun Koopmeiners missed a penalty before the break.

Sparta began to dream of the comeback with goals in the opening section of the second period by Abdou Harroui and Dirk Abels. AZ, already without Oussama Idrissi, in Seville to close his contract for Julen Lopetegui's team, was unable to stop the avalanche of the locals, who the reaction culminated in the closing stages with a penalty from German Lennart Thy and a final target from Sven Mijnans.
