PSG secures the replacement of Keylor Navas

Paris Saint-Germain is famous for its impressive purchases but, for a long time, it has also tried to generate its own talents or at least attract them in its final stages of training to finish developing them in its facilities at Camp de Loges.

The last to make the jump to the first team has been Denis Franchi, the until now starting goalkeeper of the sub-19, who will try to compete for a position with Keylor Navas, Sergio Rico, Letellier, the also very young Saidini and his partner in the sub-19. Randriamamy. The Italian played the entire Youth League and seems ahead of his two younger rivals although still far from the veterans. If it becomes the replacement for Navas in a definitive way, only time will tell, but his career, when he barely turns one year in Paris, is remarkable.

Born in Pordenone, in northern Italy, in 2002, Franchi played for Prata Falchi, was loaned out to the Udinese youth teams and ended up going free to Paris. He arrived in the French capital thanks to the recommendation of one of his scouts, who saw him in a tournament in Nantes with the Friulani under-19s.

In July 2019 he signed his first contract and this 2020 he has already become a professional, extending his commitment to the club until 2023. Now, he will have to work until he can appear with the elders, with whom he has been training regularly for a long time.

Xavi Simons' best friend

As it shows in social networks, Franchi is very close to Xavi Simons, a former FC Barcelona youth player who decided to continue his career at Paris Saint-Germain. Both arrived at the same time, he from Italy and Simons from Catalonia, to the French capital and they are united by a special bond.

Both have photos together on their Instagram accounts about the green but also sharing French classes and the comments with affection between them are common. Simons, who at the age of 17 is already captain of the Parisian U19, could take a short time to join his great friend in the dressing room of the majors.
