MADRID, 3 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Paris Saint-Germain has finally not positioned itself to buy the Stade de France, a plan in which it had shown interest until this Wednesday, and will presumably focus on carrying out a major remodeling of its current fiefdom, the Parc des Princes.
According to information from the newspapers 'Le Parisien' and 'L'Équipe', PSG had until noon this Wednesday to present a file to Fin Infra, an infrastructure support entity run by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.
The consortium of the Saint-Denis venue for the next 25 years posed a problem for the Parisian club. In the event of purchase, the new owner had to assert the priority right of the FFF (French Football Federation) and the FFR (French Rugby Federation) until the year 2050. This obligation was not negotiable and, therefore, has prohibitive result for PSG.
“The club is now focusing on its idea of carrying out a major renovation of the Parc des Princes. To make this project possible, PSG must become the owner of its stadium, which belongs to the Paris City Council, which has not yet decided to sell it. “If the negotiations fail, the search for land that can accommodate the construction of a new venue is also a serious option,” 'L'Équipe' indicated on its website.
