Provedel, Ricci and Orsolini, excluded from Italy’s list for the Euro Cup

MADRID, 6 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Goalkeeper Ivan Provedel (Lazio), midfielder Samuele Ricci (Torino) and forward Riccardo Orsolini (Bologna) have been the three discarded this Thursday by the Italy football coach, Luciano Spalletti, in his final list for the men’s Euro Cup , which will be played from June 14 to July 14 in Germany.

The Italian team, current European champion and rival of Spain in the group stage of the imminent tournament, thus announced its roster of 26 players. The big news on the pre-list had been Nicolò Fagioli, a Juventus midfielder who returned to playing time after eight months of absence due to a sanction for illegal betting.

Also notable was the absence of Ciro Immobile, Lazio forward and starter for the ‘Azzurra’ in the 2020 Euro Cup final. Without him and without Manuel Locatelli (Juventus), Spalletti will try to revalidate the title won by his country three years ago at Wembley Stadium.

Neither will Marco Verratti (Al-Arabi) or Matteo Politano (Napoli) be in an Italy in Group B of the next Euro Cup along with Spain, Croatia and Albania. Thus, the ‘Azzurra’ will debut against the Albanian team on June 15, play their second match against Spain on June 20 and close the group stage against Croatia on June 24.
