ProLiga asks for an audience in the non-professional football fields

ProLiga, as a non-professional football association, has demanded this Wednesday from the Superior Sports Council (CSD) its “urgent mediation before the Administrations so that the presence of the public in the stadiums is authorized “ due to its absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic only in some Autonomous Communities.

“The absence of the public in the stadiums is leading to a significant reduction in income from ticket offices, members and subscribers, as well as possible sponsorships, endangering the economic viability of many clubs “, indicates ProLiga in a statement.

The employer assures that it has responded to the request of many of its associated clubs, requesting the CSD to mediate to ensure that there is a public in non-professional football again with their respective sanitary measures.

ProLiga requests that “the presence of spectators be authorized in the matches of the National League Championships of Second Division 'B', Third Division, Youth Division of Honor and National Youth”. “As we are seeing, depending on the Autonomous Community and / or the Municipality, the presence of the public is allowed or not, producing an important comparative offense between clubs of the same Category and that face each other”, adds ProLiga, who regrets that “many clubs see their income reduced, both due to the lack of box office collection, and due to the considerable decrease in members and subscribers”.

“Also, for this reason, important assets of the clubs are being lost, such as sponsors, and income from the operation of bars and / or cafeterias existing in their facilities, running a serious risk of not being able to meet the budgets if the situation is not reversed, “the note adds.

ProLiga, which appreciates the “good will of the CSD” considers that, if the presence of the public in other shows, both outdoors and indoors, is possible, respecting the strict security measures and capacity limitation, “It should be the same in football stadiums, since, in these, the show is held outdoors, where it has been shown that the risks of contagion are lower, especially when the attendees never remove their masks “.
