Prisco’s picks for Week 8 of the NFL: A nail-biting victory for the 49ers over the Bengals, and an upset victory for the Titans against the Falcons thanks to Will Levis.

I’ve had enough of this. I am surrendering and raising the white flag. There is no way to prevail in this conflict. NFL comes out on top.

The task of selecting games for each week is completely beyond my capabilities. This time of year is just nuts. Is there anyone who is doing well?

In our group’s expert picks for the previous week, I posted a record of 5-8 against the spread, which tied for inferior for the period among our group.

This is revolting. Ryan Wilson committed the inconceivable act. In reality, he had a record of 0-13 ATS.

It’s not like my completely picks were significantly better than anyone else’s. I climbed vertically for 6-7 seconds.

My season records currently stand at 62-44 in straight wins and 50-53-3 against the spread. What a letdown the anticipation of a significant Week 7 was!

However, much like any defeated fighter, it is time to rise back up and regain the fight, and the first step in doing so will be taken this week.

Perhaps it’s time to resort to the tried-and-true dart board method. Another option would be to draw names out of a hat. Something, anything, in order to get it moving in the right direction.

In the last two games, neither side has played particularly well, but the Bills have come out on top in one of those contests.

Over the last two weeks, the Buccaneers’ offensive has struggled, while the Bills’ defense has been plagued by troubles due to the number of injuries.

Regardless of this, I believe that the Bills will regain their footing in front of their fans at home. It’s going to be a big game for Josh Allen.

The Panthers’ Bryce Young and the Texans’ C.J. Stroud, who were the top two picks during the draft, will be competing against one another in this game.

While Young has suffered mightily, Stroud has performed admirably. The Texans were the superior team, despite the fact that they are coming off of a bye week. They do it while they are traveling.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport stated Wednesday that Tennessee is prepping Levis to start Week 8 because Ryan Tannehill (ankle) is unlikely to play. According to individuals informed of the situation, Rapoport received this information from.

On Tuesday, Head Coach Mike Vrabel mentioned that both Malik Willis and Levis would be participating in the game, but Rapoport mentioned that the rookie is likely to serve as the primary signal-caller for the team.

Vrabel reaffirmed his commitment to play both of his young quarterbacks on Wednesday, even in the case that Tannehill, who is not scheduled to practice on Wednesday, fails to go to the game.

Given the difficulties that Willis has had in his three starts so far this season, and again when he replaced Tannehill on the final minute of their game against the Ravens in Week 6, this report from Rapoport does not come as much of a surprise.

Willis was sacked four times in only two drives while playing against Baltimore, but he still managed to complete four of five passes for 74 yards plus add three rushes for 17 yards.

Levis was projected by the majority of experts to be selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL selection; however, he fell to Day 2 of the selection and was selected by the Titans with the 33rd overall choice.

The quarterback from Kentucky has experience playing in a pro-style offense and possesses a huge arm, but he struggles with turnovers and accuracy at the collegiate level.

The rookie went into training camp competing with Willis for the role of backup, but he suffered an injury to his thigh in the middle of August, which prevented him from participating in critical preseason reps.

In the one and only preseason game that the rookie participated in, there were 30 plays and he completed 9 of 14 passes for 85 yards, had one interception, and was sacked four times.

In the game against Baltimore that the Titans played in London just before their bye week in Week 7, Tannehill was knocked out with an ankle injury.

Vrabel would not rule out the possibility that the veteran would play again, but all of the reports that have come out since the injury have indicated that Tannehill will be out for a while at least due to the injury.

It is possible that Tennessee will deploy Willis as a change-of-pace quarterback, particularly given his speed and running acumen; nonetheless, it makes a lot of sense for the 2-4 Titans to turn the offense over to the rookie.
