The Premier League has given the go-ahead for friendly matches to be played before the resumption of competition, but with restrictions. These friendlies will serve as preparation for the return of the league, scheduled for June 17.
The restrictions that the league has put include the ban on teams traveling more than an hour and a half from their cityAlthough clubs like Newcastle United, due to their distance, will receive a special permit.
Also all players will have to travel in their own cars, eliminating joint bus trips, for example.
The matches can be played in stadiums or training camps. There will be no professional referees, but members of the technical staff of the teams will be in charge of refereeing. This is because the collegiates have not yet been tested for the coronavirus.
Also, changing rooms will not be used to avoid unnecessary contact between players.
