‘Postseason Corey Seager’ lets emotions flow after epic homer

“Postseason Corey Seager” allows his feelings to show after hitting an incredible home run.

Seager, who is typically the most calm and collected of all baseball players, elected to gaze toward the Rangers’ dugout and yell to his teammates before twirling his bat and fast rounding the bases as “The Natural” played over the Globe Life Field speakers.

The excitement that followed Seager’s game-tying two-run home run in the bottom of the 9th inning helped propel the Rangers into a 6-5 walk-off victory against the D-backs in Game 1 the the World Series finale on Friday night.

Globe Life Field had been rather quiet before to Seager’s home run, which occurred in the bottom the the ninth inning.

The Rangers won the game thanks to a walk-off solo home run hit by Adolis Garcia in the top of the 11th inning, but Seager’s heroics were necessary for the Rangers to even be in the game.

It was only the sixth occasion in the history of the World Series that a home run was hit in the bottom from the ninth inning, and it was the first time that it had happened since Alex Gordon of Kansas City hit one in 2015.

“The at-bats he put together night inside and night out during the big spots and in those big situations are truly incredible,” Jung said. “It’s like he’s made of iron.”

“When he was coming up to bat there in the ninth inning, I was like, ‘Well, don’t give him a strike; anything cool is bound to happen.'”

And lo and behold, on the very first pitch, there he is. There are no words that can adequately express what he meant to our team, what he contributes to the success of our club, or how incredible he has been for us. You can’t help but be relieved that he dresses up for you.

“Man, that’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen on a baseball field,” Rangers outfielder Travis Jankowski said. “Man, that’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen on a baseball field.”

“It was so amazing since Corey exhibited not a single emotion during the whole season. Playing cards in the locker room is where he reveals his true feelings, rather than out on the field.

“But then, if we see him allow the emotions out during a huge moment like that, it’s an instant change.

“But then, when you see him let his emotions out in a large moment like that. The wonderful thing about that is that when he does that through the season, it’s like, ‘Oh, homer, sick.’

In contrast, if you add the feelings on the top of it in a scenario such as that, the atmosphere in the dugout becomes euphoric.

“Man, that’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in a baseball field,” Rangers fielder Travis Jankowski said. “Man, that’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever witnessed on a baseball field.”

“It was so amazing since Corey exhibited not a single emotion during the whole season. Playing cards in the locker room is where he reveals his true feelings, rather than out on the field.

The comeback brought up memories for numerous long-time employees of the Texas Rangers of Game 6 in the 2011 World Series.

In that game, the Rangers were twice one strike away from claiming the World Series, but the St. Louis Cardinals tied the game in the ninth inning and won it in the 11th inning on a walk-off homer by David Freese.

It was only the second time in the history of baseball when a club hit a game-tying home shot in the ninth inning plus a walk-off in extra innings.

The first time it happened was in 2001 when the New York Yankees defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 4 in Yankee Stadium.

In the entirety of the postseason, this was Sewald’s first time surrendering a run, and in his nine innings of work, he had only allowed four hits.

There are very few Rangers who have more postseason history than Segaer, and he has consistently performed well in the most important situations.

Josh Jung, who plays third base for the Rangers, described how he felt as he watched the ball leave Corey Seager’s bat.

“Wow, he did it again; he’s done it for years during the postseason, and this time he just did it once for us, and seeing his yell right away as he did it, he know it wasn’t going to go a mile,” stated Jung.

“He’s done it for years at the postseason, but he just done it again for us.” “There are no words; you can only be really happy that they are suiting up for us,” she said.

At this time, Seager is at bat. 327 in the playoffs while hitting four bombs and driving in eight runs. On Friday, Seager had a batting average of.200 with one hit, four walks, a home run, two RBIs, but three runs scored.
