Possible line-up of Atlético in the Cup against Real Sociedad

Follow Real Sociedad – Atlético de Copa del Rey today, live

The Reale Arena in San Sebastián hosts this Wednesday hosts this Wednesday (21:99, DAZN) one of the highlights of the round of 16 of the Cup. A single match, to give it more emotion. Real Sociedad, champion of the 2020 tournament (whose final was played last year), receives an Atlético de Madrid full of doubts, but who really wants this title, largely because it seems the most accessible.

Simeone, however, will not have it easy at all to put together an eleven of guarantees. Rather, the numerous kills nearly blew him out of the lineup. The coach has traveled to the Basque Country with only 15 players from the first team, plus five homegrown players who complete the expedition and await an opportunity. Imanol, for his part, will not be able to count on Isak, although he will form a team very close to the gala one.

Possible eleven of Atlético de Madrid

As rehearsed by Simeone in the last two training sessions, the only question is whether he will complete the attack with Carrasco or with Correa. The two forwards will be João Félix and Matheus Cunha. That is to say, as in the Super Cup, Luis Suárez will be a substitute. The 9 has lost his role as undisputed starter, although he will have minutes in the second half.

In midfield there will also be a new trio: Héctor Herrera, De Paul and Koke. The injuries to Kondogbia and Marcos Llorente do not leave many more options either. Lemar, usual in the eleven, will wait on the bench. And in defense, Simeone is fair. There are only four available from the first team: Vrsaljko, Felipe, Hermoso and Lodi. Five boys from the quarry will be on the bench: Manu Lama, Sergio, Javi Serrano, Alberto Moreno and Carlos Martín.

Possible eleven of the Royal Society

La Real has a big date, also being the eve of San Sebastián, something that will motivate the txuri-urdin team even more. Isak does not arrive on time, but his place in the lead will go to Sorloth. The rest of the team sounds like eleven of the big nights. The other novelty may be Ryan, who will rest Remiro in goal.

In defense, everything points to a line with Zaldua, Elustondo, Le Normand and Aihen Muñoz. Monreal is in the final stretch of his injury. The anchor of the midfield will be Zubimendi, with Mikel Merino and Silva ahead in the creation zone. Januzaj and Oyarzabal will attack from the flanks and Sorloth will be up front, who already made Atlético suffer at the Metropolitano with a goal in minute 7.
